Volunteers will also help to hand carry buckets of water and pick up litter. The garden is located on a slope adjacent to the Santa Ana River Trail; the dirt terrain can be uneven and includes some uphill and downhill walking. \nVolunteers must RSVP ahead of time through our signup platform by clicking here. Questions? Reach out to Angie at aleon@riversandlands.org. Space is limited\, so save your spot today! \nThis event is made possible by contributions from our project partners at the City of Riverside Parks\, Recreation and Community Services Department. Many thanks to our dedicated partners and volunteers for supporting our ongoing efforts to restore native plant habitat while beautifying community spaces! 🌼🌾🦋 🐝 \n \n

SUMMARY:Oak Watering & Maintenance Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:We’re looking for volunteers to join Rivers & Lands Conservancy staff on Friday\, June 26th to help water and care for the young oak seedlings planted at our Cienega Canyon Preserve\, located in the City of Calimesa! 🌱 \nDid you know oaks are among the most important plants for local wildlife? Unfortunately\, however\, oak trees at Cienega Canyon Preserve face many challenges\, including drought\, pests\, and disease. To meet these challenges\, we’re working with local community partners\, students\, and volunteers to restore oak woodland habitat for the many types of animals that call Cienega Canyon Preserve home. \nParticipating volunteers will assist with hand watering\, mulching\, and weeding oak planting sites. The event requires hand carrying water jugs\, using hand tools such as shovels\, and walking approximately 2-3 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. \nVolunteers must register ahead of time. For more event details and to register\, click here. Questions? Reach out to Angie at aleon@riversandlands.org. Space is limited\, so save your spot today! \nMany thanks to our project funders at Inland Empire Resource Conservation District for supporting our efforts to restore oak woodland habitat at Cienega Canyon Preserve.
