SUMMARY:Greatest American Cleanup Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy staff on Saturday\, May 10th from 9am-11:30am as part of the nationwide “Greatest American Cleanup.” Volunteers will help remove litter from an approximate 1-mile stretch of the Santa Ana River Trail starting at Martha McLean -Anza Narrows Park\, located in the City of Riverside. Volunteers will also assist staff with garden maintenance activities\, such as weeding and pruning\, at our California native plant garden at the Martha McLean-Anza Narrows Park trailhead. All ages are welcome to attend. Please note\, there is a bathroom onsite at the park; however\, we cannot guarantee that it will be open and/or clean during the event. \nAll volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com by April 24. Space is very limited\, so save your spot today! \nFREE event t-shirt AND complimentary lunch provided for participating volunteers at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce from 11:30am-1pm\, thanks to Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful! When RSVP’ing\, please let Angie know the quantity and sizes of shirts for you (and your group\, if applicable).  \nThe Santa Ana River Trail and our California native plant garden provide valuable outdoor spaces for the community and important habitat areas for local wildlife. SUMMARY:Oak & Riparian Woodland Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer to help restore oak and riparian woodland habitat with us on Saturday\, May 17th from 9am-12pm in San Timoteo Canyon located in the City of Calimesa! Participating volunteers will be assisting with a variety of hands-on activities\, such as watering oak planting sites and removing invasive plant species from throughout the area\, to support habitat restoration for the many types of wildlife that call the oak and riparian woodlands of San Timoteo Canyon home. Volunteers will be walking approximately 1-3 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. All ages welcome. \nInterested volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com to reserve a spot and for more event details.
