SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Harvest Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy on Sunday\, November 2nd for our “Annual Acorn Harvest” at Cienega Canyon Preserve\, located in the City of Calimesa. Over the past decade\, many of the Preserve’s oak trees have suffered from drought\, pests\, and disease\, leading to a significant loss of food and shelter for the wildlife that calls Cienega Canyon Preserve home. To help restore these extra important trees\, we gather acorns each fall with help from the community and plant the next generation of oaks the following winter. \nParticipating volunteers will be hand collecting acorns from oak trees and walking approximately 1-3 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. This event is family-friendly and open to all ages! Participants under the age of 14 must have an adult volunteer accompany and supervise them for the duration of the event. \nVolunteers must RSVP ahead of time through our new signup platform by clicking here. SUMMARY:Delhi Sand Dune Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Instead of Black Friday shopping\, “opt outside” and join us on Friday\, November 28th for a day of Delhi sand dune restoration at one of our conservation sites located in Fontana! We will be working with volunteers to expand our habitat restoration project by planting California native plants that provide food and shelter for the unique wildlife that calls the rare dunes home. Participation in the event requires walking approximately 1 mile over uneven\, dirt terrain.
