SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Planting Volunteer Event!
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy in restoring coast live oaks at our annual acorn planting event at Cienega Canyon Preserve\, located in the City of Calimesa. Over the last decade\, many oak trees in the preserve have died from a combination of drought\, pests\, and pathogens. The loss of oaks means the loss of food and shelter for numerous wildlife species that rely on the mighty oaks for their survival. To help replace the lost oaks\, we are planting germinated acorns with the help of community volunteers! \nParticipation in the event requires walking approximately 1-2 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain. All ages are welcome to attend. Interested volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Angie at aleon@riversandlands.org to reserve a spot and for more event details. Space is limited\, so save your spot today! \nThis work is possible thanks to grant funding from Edison Internation and Inland Empire Resource Conservation District. 😊🦉🌳
