SUMMARY:10th Annual Fundraising Gala!
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nYou’re invited to our 10th Annual Fundraising Gala! \nWHEN: Thursday\, October 5\, 2023 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm\n \nWHERE: Crestmore Manor\, 4600 Crestmore Road\, Jurupa Valley\, CA 92509\n \nWHAT: Join us for a meaningful evening out at the beautiful Crestmore Manor venue while enjoying delicious food\, good company\, and like-minded appreciation for the natural world. This year we will be celebrating all that has bloomed in the past 10 years of support for our signature fundraising event\, including our growing outdoor education programming and our California Native Plant Community Gardens. In addition to highlighting native plants you can bring to your own gardens\, we are also excited to welcome the return of Wild Wonders to our event and the unique opportunity to meet local wildlife during our gala reception. We are also pleased to be honoring Inland Empire Resource Conservation District with our 2023 Environmental Excellence Award. \n The Annual Gala is Rivers & Lands Conservancy’s largest and most significant fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the event support our current programs and their future growth. Sponsorships help ensure the success of what we anticipate being a sold-out event. The Gala is a wonderful opportunity to mix and mingle with the local conservation community and we are always thrilled to share our sponsor’s support with our constituents. \nMore about the event here. \nSponsorship details here.

SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Harvest Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy for our annual acorn harvest at Cienega Canyon Preserve! Over the last decade\, oaks in the preserve have died from drought\, pests\, and pathogens. The loss of oaks means the loss of food and shelter for wildlife that rely on oaks for their survival. To help restore lost oaks\, we collect acorns in the fall with the help of volunteers so we can plant the next generation of oak trees the following winter. We hope you can celebrate the fall season with us as we go trick-or-tree’ting for acorns! \nAll ages are welcome at this family friendly event! Minors must be accompanied by an adult and under their supervision for the entire event. Long pants and comfortable closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers will be hiking approximately 1-2 miles. Portions of the trail can be uneven and can include some uphill and downhill terrain. Bags and buckets for collecting acorns will be provided. Please note there are no restrooms onsite. \nSpace is limited. Interested volunteers must RSVP to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com to reserve a spot. \nMany thanks to our project funders at Edison International and Inland Empire Resource Conservation District for supporting our efforts to restore and steward oak woodland habitat at Cienega Canyon Preserve! 😎🌳
