SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Planting Volunteer Event!
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy in restoring oaks at our annual acorn planting event at Cienega Canyon Preserve\, located in the City of Calimesa! Over the last decade\, oaks in the preserve have died from drought\, pests\, and pathogens. The loss of oaks means the loss of food and shelter for wildlife that rely on oaks for their survival. To help restore lost oaks\, we are planting germinated acorns with protective screens to give them their best chance at survival. \nAll ages are welcome at this family friendly event. Minors must be accompanied by an adult and under their supervision for the entire event. Long pants and comfortable closed-toe shoes suitable for hiking approximately 1-2 miles on uneven terrain area required. All necessary supplies will be provided. \nSpace is limited!
