We hope you join us for a meaningful evening out to celebrate the powerful impacts of community conservation while enjoying delicious food\, good company\, and like-minded appreciation for the natural world. Our event begins with a reception featuring appetizers\, drinks\, a unique meet and greet with live animals\, and a silent auction benefiting Rivers & Lands Conservancy’s community conservation programs. SUMMARY:Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event!
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer to help restore Delhi Sand Dune habitat with us on Saturday\, October 19th from 9am-12pm at a unique conservation site located in the Jurupa Hills! Participating volunteers will be assisting with California native plant seed collection and vegetation thinning activities to support habitat restoration for the endangered Delhi Sands Flower-loving Fly and other wildlife that call the Delhi Sand Dunes home. Volunteers will be walking approximately 1-2 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. All ages welcome. \nInterested volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com to reserve a spot and for more event details. SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Harvest Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy for our annual acorn harvest at Cienega Canyon Preserve! Over the past decade\, many of the preserve’s oaks have suffered from drought\, pests\, and disease\, leading to a significant loss of food and shelter for the wildlife that depend on them. To restore these vital trees\, we gather acorns each fall with the help of volunteers\, planting the next generation of oaks the following winter. Celebrate the fall season with us as we go “trick-or-tree’ting” for acorns! \nThis event is family-friendly and open to all ages! Minors must be accompanied and supervised by an adult for the entire event. Please wear long pants and comfortable closed-toe shoes\, as volunteers will hike 1-2 miles on trails that may be uneven or include uphill and downhill sections. We’ll provide bags and buckets for collecting acorns. Please note that there are no restrooms on-site. \nSpace is limited\, so be sure to RSVP to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com to secure your spot. \nSpecial thanks to our project supporters\, Edison International and Inland Empire Resource Conservation District\, for helping us restore and care for the oak woodlands at Cienega Canyon Preserve!
