SUMMARY:Delhi Sand Dune Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer to help restore rare Delhi sand dune habitat with us on Saturday\, April 12th from 9am-12pm at our unique conservation site located in the City of Colton! Participating volunteers will be assisting with a variety of restoration and stewardship tasks\, such as installing wooden shims to help improve sand collection and dune stabilization. Your helping hands will support habitat restoration for the endangered Delhi sands flower-loving fly and other wildlife that call the Delhi sand dunes home. Volunteers will be walking approximately 1-2 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. Please note\, there are no restrooms available at this site. All ages welcome. \nInterested volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Angie at aleon@riversandlands.org to reserve a spot and for more event details. SUMMARY:Invasive Plant Removal Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Calling extra strong volunteers to help us remove invasive plants on Friday\, April 18th from 9am-12pm at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park in the City of Riverside! 💪 Participating volunteers will be using shovels and other various hand tools to dig out invasive plant species\, such as green fountain grass (a non-native\, highly invasive plant species that has spread into the Wilderness Park). Volunteers will be walking approximately 1 mile over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. *Please note\, volunteers must be over the age of 18 to participate in this opportunity. \nInterested volunteers must RSVP ahead of time to Rachael at rhamilton@riversandlands.org to reserve a spot and for more event details\, such as meeting location\, etc. Space is limited\, so save your spot today to help restore habitat for the native plant and wildlife species that call Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park home! 🌾 \nThis event is made possible by grant support from Friends of Riverside’s Hills and contributions from our project partners at The California Native Plant Society\, Riverside-San Bernardino Chapter and the City of Riverside Parks\, Recreation and Community Services Department.

Visitors will get the chance to buzz in on Storytime fun with the Library\, explore a Day in My Life with UC Riverside Entomology Graduate Students\, learn how to create your own bug collection\, visit the Wyland Mobile Learning Experience sponsored by Riverside Public Utilities\, shop\, and much more!
