SUMMARY:Annual Acorn Harvest Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Rivers & Lands Conservancy on Sunday\, November 2nd for our “Annual Acorn Harvest” at Cienega Canyon Preserve\, located in the City of Calimesa. Over the past decade\, many of the Preserve’s oak trees have suffered from drought\, pests\, and disease\, leading to a significant loss of food and shelter for the wildlife that calls Cienega Canyon Preserve home. To help restore these extra important trees\, we gather acorns each fall with help from the community and plant the next generation of oaks the following winter. \nParticipating volunteers will be hand collecting acorns from oak trees and walking approximately 1-3 miles over uneven\, dirt terrain for the duration of the event. This event is family-friendly and open to all ages! Participants under the age of 14 must have an adult volunteer accompany and supervise them for the duration of the event. \nVolunteers must RSVP ahead of time through our new signup platform by clicking here. Questions? Reach out to Angie at aleon@riversandlastg.wpenginepowered.com. Space is limited\, so save your spot today! \nMany thanks to our project funders at Inland Empire Resource Conservation District for supporting our efforts to restore oak woodland habitat at Cienega Canyon Preserve. 🌳🦉

SUMMARY:"Granite Rapids Moon" Film Screening & Fundraiser!
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, November 15th for a special screening of Granite Rapids Moon at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana! The first narrative feature film ever to shoot the majority of its footage inside the Grand Canyon\, Granite Rapids Moon was made with permission and oversight from the National Park Service using only the equipment that cast and crew could carry on their backs through 82 miles of hiking. The family-friendly romantic drama contains no nudity\, sex\, guns\, violence\, drugs\, or strong profanity. Check out the trailer! \nThe filmmakers are touring US theaters for single-night Q&A screenings throughout 2025. Ten percent of the film’s profits will be donated to Grand Canyon Conservancy\, Leave No Trace\, and Plastic Free Restaurants\, and a portion of ticket sales at specific events will also benefit select local non-profits. Thanks to the generosity of the eco-minded filmmakers\, a portion of the box office proceeds from the screening on November 15th will be donated to Rivers & Lands Conservancy. The more people who purchase tickets and attend\, the larger our donation. Help us spread the word and invite your friends and family! \nTickets cost only $13 and can be purchased online here. Simply click on the 12:00pm showing button. We hope to see you there for a fun day out! \n \n
