In her spare time, our Co-Executive Director, Rebecca, spends a lot of time celebrating nature by making art. She crafts prints on paper using leaves and berries from her neighborhood and nearby wild spaces, photographs birds, and then uses these reference photos to illustrate birds on her plant prints. In fact, she was a California Arts Council Fellow in 2023 as an emerging artist.

“Art is such a wonderful way to clear my head after a hard day and a great excuse to get outside! I don’t get to be in the field as much as I did early in my career but I still try to carve out time for wild adventures. It reminds me why we do the work we do at Rivers & Lands Conservancy and what we are working to conserve for future generations.” she says.

Every year, she gathers her favorite illustrations to create a calendar and this year she’s donating some to share with our supporters. If you give Rivers & Lands Conservancy a gift, she’d like to give you a gift too!
