Who Takes Care of Mt Rubidoux?
The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department maintains Mt. Rubidoux from its trail entrances all the way the boundary next to the cement benches below the Serra Cross. Rivers & Lands Conservancy owns and stewards a half-acre of Mt. Rubidoux Peak which includes the Serra Cross, cement benches, and surrounding areas. The park is also lovingly tended by Friends of Mt. Rubidoux, an all-volunteer organization that works to keep it beautiful as well as to share its history.
Mt. Rubidoux belongs to the entire community. So, all of us are responsible for its care, packing out trash and picking up after our pets. Please stay on the marked trails and avoid the “pirated” paths around the park. These unauthorized paths create erosion which ultimately destroys habitat and the integrity of the hill. Thank you for helping to ensure that Mt. Rubidoux Peak will remain beautiful and welcoming to wildlife and people for generations to come.
