Do you want to contribute to real life conservation efforts happening in your very own community by volunteering with Rivers & Lands Conservancy?
Throughout the year, we invite community volunteers to help with a variety of hands-on restoration and stewardship activities such as collecting native plant seeds, watering oak seedlings, removing invasive weeds, conducting litter cleanups, and creating native plant gardens.
Our volunteer events provide opportunities to learn new skills, gain real-world experiences, earn community services hours, make new friends, and get outside for some much needed time to commune with nature.
Volunteers play a tremendous role in Rivers & Lands Conservancy’s on-the-ground efforts. Your helping hands and donated time make it possible for Rivers & Lands Conservancy to achieve so much more than we could alone. A year ago I happened to stumble on a Rivers & Lands Conservancy booth one afternoon and decided I wanted to volunteer. I had volunteered with other organizations before, but Rivers & Lands Conservancy has made it a place where people want to return. Everyone I have met is passionate about the work they do and that alone makes me want to continue to be a part of the organization.
Some of my happiest memories from childhood were about getting in the soil and planting in my yard. Being a part of the “RLC” community lets me rekindle that curiosity and passion for our natural world that I love so much. RLC also got me outdoors and connecting with so many caring and friendly people at a time when my job was keeping me indoors and too busy to socialize.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Rivers & Lands Conservancy staff provides all the necessary support, training, supplies, and tools to participate as a volunteer! No prior experience or knowledge regarding project activities are needed.
We welcome individuals, families, students, youth groups, business professionals, retirees, and more! Please note that all volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
